Having poise in life is something that we must work. It does not just happen by circumstance. We must work on staying poised in life. The dictionary definition of poise includes the following:
- a dignified, self-confident manner or bearing;
- composure
- self-possession
All of the aspects of this defnition need to be refined. Our confidence in any situation can be shaken. Staying strong and being open to learn helps us to have composure. When you get knocked down or experience tough times, welcome them as learning points and chances to make you stronger in the end.
Being self confident means that it is OK to admit that you may not know all things in every situation. Be genuine and if you are not sure of something, tell yourself and others that you do not have the answer straight away, however, you will find the answer after some research and reflection.
